Astrophotographer David Lane has taken Yellowstone National Park’s night sky in photos that will take your breath away. You might notice the vibrant coloration – it’s the effect of the photographer increasing the airglow saturation by 10% instead of decreasing it. There’s some combination involved: one picture can made up from 16 combined shots.
“Get away from the light, drive out 20-30 miles out of town, and look up on a clear dark night,” Lane wrote on Facebook. “You may see something that will forever change your life. This is what a galaxy looks like from the inside.”
